Delete your StrictDNS account
StrictDNS is made by Ondřej Vereš (Nexgea). There are two ways to delete your account and the data that goes with it.
In the app
- Open StrictDNS on Android, iPhone, iPad or Mac, or the web app at app.strictdns.com/account.
- Go to Account.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
Your account is closed straight away, and your partners are notified.
By email
To have all your data erased, or if you can't sign in any more, write to support@strictdns.com from the email address you sign in with. We erase it within 30 days and let you know when it's done.
What's deleted
- Your name and email address, and your sign-in.
- Your devices and their DNS addresses.
- What you block and allow, and your activity log.
- Your partners, invitations, alerts and notification settings.
Your StrictDNS account is also your ScrollBump account, so erasing your sign-in closes that too.
What's kept, and for how long
- Activity log entries already recorded expire within 30 days.
- Crash reports, which aren't linked to your account, are deleted after 90 days.
- A subscription isn't cancelled by deleting your account: cancel it in Google Play, your Apple ID's subscriptions, or the web app. Apple, Google and Stripe keep their own payment records, as the law requires.
Deleting some of your data, and keeping your account
You can remove parts of your data yourself, in the app or the web app:
- Activity log: turn it off under Protection. No more sites are kept, and entries already recorded expire within 30 days.
- Devices: remove one under Devices. Its DNS address stops working at once.
- Partners: remove one under Partners. You stop seeing each other's filtering.
- Blocked and allowed sites: remove them under Protection.
To have any other data erased, or all of it at once, write to support@strictdns.com and say what you'd like deleted. We erase it within 30 days and let you know when it's done. Crash reports aren't linked to your account and are deleted after 90 days.
